Larry “Bear” Michael Payne, age 62, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, August 22, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born June 5, 1954 in Murphy, North Carolina, a son to the late Charlie and Gladys Payne. He was also preceded by a son Neko Payne. He is survived by his wife Heather Payne and a daughter Neeka Payne of the residence. Larry is also survived by a special friend Wendy Pedigo, and her children who called him Paw Paw ; Caitlin, Anthony, Benjamin, Emily, Matthew and Carly Pedigo. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kathy joined our staff at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in 2007. She is a 1980 graduate of Wayne State Mortuary School. She is a licensed funeral director in the states of Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas. Kathy has lived in the Ringgold community for the past 18 years. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and has one son, Jeremy, as well as two grandchildren, Sydney and Carson.
Tonja Tate is the younger sister of Stoney Ponders and has been on staff at Ponders Funeral Home for a year now. Tonja has been married to her husband, Glenn, for 28 years and together they have three children, Jared, Valerie and Katie Beth. They also have one grandson, Phoenix Diaz. She and her husband are active members at Central Community Church in Chatsworth, GA.
