Ponders Funeral Home was established in northwest Georgia in 1992 by Stonewall Ponders. As a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and member of the Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity, Stoney realized a lifelong dream of owning his own funeral home. This dream became reality when Ponders Funeral Home began serving Dalton area families on July 15, 1992. With the addition of locations in Calhoun Fairmount, and most recently Chattanooga, Ponders Funeral Homes has grown to become the area’s largest funeral service provider.
